My name is Conor Thomas Doherty. I am a physical theatre dance artist. An ongoing interest of mine is the act of collaborative performance. The true combination of dance and theatre. How a body in space and time can create and exhibit a breathing artwork. My body is very impulsive and thrives in the present. Through my improvisational practice, I attempt to make sense of "real time" situations of myself and others in the world. A tactile engagement with the body, objects and processes, help me provoke questions about how we can see the world by transforming what we know it to be. For me, this opens new possibilities. The personal becomes the political, which is an opportunity to break the boundaries that can result in extraordinary dialogues between human beings.
Using the space as a residency at Arthouse United-C in Eindhoven , Conor is planning to exibit a new self solo performance. The arthouse offers a presentation at “Seasoning” festival throughout the year. Through this research he will use this opportunity to become a choreographer for his first work.
"I Never Learn" is the motif and title for Conor's upcoming performance.
