I am Clarit. I recently moved to Eindhoven with my husband; before that, we lived in Spain.

We left Spain and returned to Eindhoven because we had lived and worked here in the past. Now, at this stage of our lives, we want to enjoy a wonderful time here, surrounded by our friends and family. I really appreciate living here again and seeing old friends.

The object I chose is a turtle. It is adorned with gemstones. This is all connected to my daughter, who passed away.

It has been two years now. She had a special connection to turtles, and it was a significant part of our lives. Her passing was a huge loss for us and for the children.

I chose this because she was a strong woman—a strong, wise woman—who died far too young. Sadly, the illness ultimately claimed her life. The gemstones on the turtle remind me of a gemstone necklace I once owned.

That necklace held great value for me; I gave it to her, and it has now passed on to her daughter. To me, the turtle represents an ancient creature that swims the seas.

Rob and I used to sail the open ocean. On one occasion, we saw a massive turtle slowly raise its head; it seemed to be saying, "It’s okay, everyone—take it easy. Everything will be fine."

Whenever I see a turtle, I am reminded of my daughter. So, when I spotted this little turtle, I thought: "Yes, that’s her."

That is what she represents to me, and that is why I chose this object.
